The origins of MİTAŞ Industry dates back the time when MİTAŞ Metal Construction Inc. was established in Ankara, Turkey, in 1955, in order to operate to develop the country’s power transmission and distribution infrastructure. The Company was primarily engaged in design, production, galvanizing and assembly of power transmission line towers.

Until 1985, the shareholders were mainly public corporations including the first national bank of Turkey (Türkiye İş Bankası), and Turkish Electricity Administration. The entire annual production then was to meet the needs of domestic market.

In 1989, a significant change occurred in the shareholding structure when EMTA Inc. acquired majority of the shares. After this privatization, qualification and training of human resources, modernization of production and galvanizing factories, new investments and business operations were expedited. These continuing efforts quickly concluded in extending product range, and increasing production figures and export sales.

A business restructuring was went through at the beginning of 2000’s to thrive in the fast changing and developing business world. This resulted in establishment of MİTAŞ Group companies, which mainly functioned on product-basis, thus transforming sectoral and industrial knowledge and experience into the expertise.

After years of professional and customer-focused business operations, a significant change took place at MİTAŞ Group Companies in 2017. In line with the decision of board about focusing on a single strategy around the common goal and creating synergy, Group Companies working on design, sales and production merged to continue their services under the name of MİTAŞ Industry Inc.
